EmSpace Dance creates a dance performance/installation for an interdisciplinary art show created by Katrina Rodabaugh in collaboration with over 30 women artists. Inspired by Gertrude Stein’s groundbreaking poetry collection, Tender Buttons, the installation features multiple handmade dresses, original letterpress prints, photographs of local artists, poetry, and live dance. Exploring the fine lines between art and craft, fashion and costume, and exhibition and performance art, the project also explores gender, women’s roles in contemporary craft, and radical cross-disciplinary collaboration.
