"Creating spare but incisive characters and relationships is something at which choreographer Mei-Ling Stuart has become masterful."
Directed by Erin Mei-Ling Stuart and Wolfgang Lancelot Wachalovsky

ADDED SHOW: Sunday Jan 30 at 3:30pm
In A Hand in Desire, EmSpace Dance riffs on the themes and images in A Streetcar Named Desire, and considers what it means to take on an iconic piece of theater.
The format of the show is inspired by the poker games that recur in the play - there are 52 scenes of various lengths, each associated with a card. A game of hearts determines which scenes will be played, thus every performance will be unique. But all promise to deliver a heady mixture of words, dance, live music, and a little high drama.
